I had all of these, yet I was not happy…
With a college degree, a good job as an accountant, an ample salary and wonderful wife and family — what more could any man want? I had all of these, yet I was not happy. There was uneasiness in my heart. I had no peace of mind. I knew that my life lacked something vital. I discussed this problem with my colleagues, but they couldn’t help me. The question of how to know the truth burned in my heart.
When a young man came to my house inquiring about renting a house I owned, he told me that he was a Christian committed to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. I asked him about this “Good News.” He told me about the sin of man, the penalty of that sin, the reality of God’s love and His plan of redemption. I had never heard that Jesus’ death on the cross was the source of salvation for one’s soul, peace of heart and a change in life.
This young man gave me a gospel booklet to read. I wrote to your office for a Bible course. As I studied it, I began to understand that Jesus Christ is the true God. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord, as did my wife. There is now true happiness and peace in my life. Jesus is the answer to my emptiness of heart.
I told my co-workers about this Good News of Jesus Christ and how it changed my life. Some believed in Jesus, but others mocked me. I thank God that He sent the Good News of Jesus Christ to my door.
